I never know to say in these things. I guess that says something about me. I read a lot, write stories, and like books. I like a good debate. Nothing else is to say. :-)
This book was very interesting.I did not know what to expect it being a YA sci/fi, but I found it very deep with what it showed the reader and the themes explored. I thought the handling of the story line and the slow build up to the final reveal was handled well...even though I think some was a bit predictable. I kind of figured out some of the secrets early on. I also think a good job was done giving the reader a feel of the trapped environment and the darkness and heaviness of the secrets and lies that the ship held. One thing I found interesting is the question of nature vs environment that is explored through ELDER/ELDEST. Are they who they are and how they turn out to be because of their situation, their environment...or because of their genes/nature. Can the new Eldest escape the fate of the other 2...can he not go down some of their more mentally unhinged paths, can he be different? Or is he doomed because he is them and they are him? It is very interesting. This was an enjoyable read overall and kept my interest.
