Escaping into My Books

The world created in this book is very interesting, and the writer still left a lot of mystery for the next book. I would like to find out more about this "Overmind" and what it' s powers and limits are. I also liked the mix of magic and technology...with just a hint of steampunk. I enjoyed the characters. I especially liked that not all of them were likable and good. They made mistakes, made really bad decisions and were naive and/or selfish. They were basically human and real. Too many times fantasy books try to make everyone upstanding and likable. Make all their decisions pure and right...when in most things it doesn't work that way. I like books with greys and characters with some shadows. Will continue this series for sure as I see there are other books.
