Halfway through reading this I realized why it felt familiar. It has a similar narrative as the Queens thief series. The main character, though we are in his head, keeps secrets even from the reader. I thought it was well done in the their series...and it is the same in this book. The reveal of the big secret is hinted at well but not fully confirmed until Sage wants to let the reader onto it. I really enjoyed the suspense and buildup. The only downside would be that I though the ending was just a tad rushed..other than that...this book was near perfect.
